I have discovered a number of truths, and falsehoods regarding Shamanism, a most powerful modality.  Two of the more important factors regarding Shamanism are:  One; most Shamans do not refer to themselves as Shamans when in the company of friends, family, or strangers:  Two; Shamans do not make the distinction of being separate from those that do not practice Shamanism, everyone and everything is related or connected and it is this energy that they work with.

About Author- and Reiki Master Kathleen O’Keefe-Kanavos:  Kathleen was born to a military family, raised in Europe, graduated from Munich International High School in Germany, has a degree in Special Education from Keene Teacher’s College in Keene, NH, taught Special Education for 10 years and Psychology at the University of South Florida.

Kathleen is a two time breast cancer survivor, www.survivingcancerland.com, an agented author represented by Scovil, Galen & Ghosh Literary Agency and has penned the soon to be published book – SURVIVING CANCERLAND: The Psychic Aspects of Healing.

Kathleen also learned about the healing energy of Reiki while going through her cancer treatments.  Kathleen eventually became a Reiki Master/Teacher as a result of her experience with cancer, healing and survival.

Hi All,

If you have been reading my recent blogs you know that I recently read a book titled “Awakening To The Spirit World”, by Sandra Ingerman and Hank Wesselman.  Both Sandra and Hank are shamanic practitioners, and in their book they provide a great amount of insight into the world of shamanism.  You do not have to be a shaman or a student of shamanism to enjoy this book.  In fact you will be delighted at all the great information you will find in this book.
