Midpioints: Astrological Treasures

Hello People,

In astrology there are so very many valuable “tools” or techniques with which the astrologer can employ for a chart delineation.  There are transits, and progressions, such as primary directions; secondary directions; tertiary Moon; Solar and Lunar return progressions to name a few.  Trying to select or choose one of these tools however, can be overwhelming and complex, even for the most experienced astrologer.  I try to use the ones that get to the heart of the situation as expeditiously as possible; get in and out as quickly, and simply as possible, with all the information that I originally came for.

Over the years I have spoken with many astrologers, each and every one of them having their own specific and favorite tool(s) they use to extricate the information they felt was the most advantageous for their clients.  There was one particular astrologer I knew that only used transits to summarize what potentially lay in store for her clients, which I felt, and still feel is tremendously limiting, but to each their own.

I have found that Midpoints are enormously rewarding for what it is I wish to achieve.  The use of midpoints (more…)

Using Astrology To Find Your “Family Myth”

Hi All,

Through my research and application of both Astrology and psychology in my practice I find it quite interesting how the family i.e., siblings, parents, grandparents, and cousins are represented in one’s Natal chart.  For instance, I have blogged and written articles on how to find and disseminate the “Parental Axis” but not such an easy one to address (more…)

Depth Astrology

Hi All,

In mainstream Psychology you will find Depth Psychology among other types of psychoanalytical processes.  Depth Psychology (or Tiefenpsychologie) is from a German term that was first coined by Eugen Bleuler in reference to therapy and research that takes the unconscious into consideration.  It only makes sense to me then that there be a Depth Astrology since so much in the body of Astrological work is the attempt to gain access to the automatic actions of waking man.  It is my contention that psychology sprang from Astrology, the little brother so to speak.

Where then might one begin in the effort to address Depth Astrology?  There possibly could be an attempt to dislodge the alchemical thrust of transformation (more…)

Imbalance Of The Water Element

Hi Folks,

The Holiday season is here and for some of you it may have arrived earlier than you wanted it to.  Emotions generally run a little higher (often times very high) than normal with the added company of family members that you haven’t seen sometimes in years.  Almost every family has the uncle or brother in law that gets too carried away at family functions and drinks more than he should.  Or the over emotional aunt that can’t finish the first sentence in her story about her pet hamster that the cat some how got to.

The above descriptions are most likely individuals that have an imbalance of too much Water in their charts.  For instance, uncle Joe and aunt Stella (more…)

Saturn, Pluto, and the Aries Point

This is a rerun blog from 2009, however after my radio show last night I thought I would run it again.  Cheers, and Happy Thanksgiving!

Hi Folks,

For those of you who have your astrological birth charts, go dust them off and get ready for review.  I highly recommend that you look to see where transiting Saturn (1° Libra), and transiting Pluto (1° Capricorn) fall in your charts.  Pluto has stationed at Capricorn several times of late, but Saturn is now ready to make itself known in Libra; both of which directly relate to the Aries Point right this minute.

Pluto is the planet of grand change, the collective, and the hidden, and Saturn is the planet of ambition, authority figures, and conservatism.  Capricorn is the last Cardinal sign (action) in the natural sequence of the astrological circle, and represents a specialized mode of energy presentation.  Libra, also a Cardinal sign represents an accentuation of the social with an emphasis on striving for balance within relationships.

Pluto has made its presence known over the last several years by going in and out of the signs of Sagittarius and Capricorn.  This is true particularly within the parameters of idealism (Sagittarius) and the administration of the practical and pragmatic (Capricorn).  You can do your own political analysis of the previous political administration, and the one in the white house now, but I don’t think that you can argue that significant change has not occurred since the Bush, and Obama administrations took power.

I recently covered the Aries Point in a previous blog, but I’ll try to reconvey the basics of the AP here. The Aries Point is a powerfully sensitive astrological point in any chart, and in any cardinal sign at 0° (that would be Aries, Cancer, Libra, or Capricorn), and particularly now within the collective (Pluto).  More specifically, the AP represents the potential for projection into public awareness through the planet and sign that is represented.  The AP relates to our connection to the world and can be likened to a conduit or portal as an outward projection and emphasis.

Pluto and the AP suggests the potential for the pioneering of power, and an amending of change through revolution and rebellion.  Think health care, military presence in both Iraq, and Afghanistan, as well as our nation’s monetary difficulties with the who, where, and why all neatly entwined within our own psyche and responsibility as a people and nation.

Saturn at the AP strongly suggests the potential for the perception by other nations (I am speaking globally) for the US to be seen as disciplined, self sufficient, and ambitious.  You might say that other countries already see the US this way, but I would like to remind you that the perception of the US has fallen a long way over the last eight or nine years.  This is the opportunity for all of America and Americans to lift themselves back up into the seat of respectability; something that has been missing since Gitmo, 9-11, and quite possibly corrupt and stolen elections.

Nationally, our response needs to be a collective one such as how we interact with one another, and how we see ourselves.  It will be necessary to become more disciplined, using our restraint regarding tolerance of other groups and religions against political and military knee jerk responses.  We must reinstate the self sufficiency of our political ideology, and regain our ambition to do the right things for the for the right reasons, and correct the wrongs of the past.

Blessings

Evolutionary Astrology With Deva Green Tonight!

I will host Author and Astrologer Deva Green of the “The School Of Evolutionary Astrology” this evening from 5 to 6 PM PST on Voice America and The 7th Wave Channel on my radio show “The Astrology Of Now With Reiki Rising.”  Deva is the daughter of renowned Astrologer Jeff Green, founder of the school of EA, he has written several books one of which is my favorite “Pluto:  The Evolutionary Journey Of The Soul.”

I will ask Deva what EA is all about as well as asking her about the school of which she is a council member.  Deva is the next to last Astrologer who will be on my show following Noel Tyl, and Jeanne Avery.  All three of these Astrologers are groundbreakers in the world of Astrology and tonight’s show will be an added opportunity for those who are interested in how one finds their soul’s journey and desire for this worldly experience and expression.

Join us tonight to find out something new from an ancient science!

Aho
