Hi All,
For many people Astrology is simply a parlor game or side show to a carnival. For others like myself Astrology is an invaluable tool for tapping into innumerable sources of information. Information such as one’s emotional makeup, psychological manifestations, or the parental dynamics in which you were born into as well as familial traits going back generations. The Progressed Astrological chart, or Solar Arc chart (one day equals a year calculation) can alert the Astrologer to potentially serious medical conditions such as a heart attack, cancer, depression and many, many more consequential life events.
Transits (the daily planetary motions) are equally telling when it comes to one’s experience and the events associated with life on this planet. However transits are short lived when compared to Primary and Secondary Progressions. There are charts for Solar Returns (when your natal Sun position is revisited each birthday); Moon Ingresses (specific sign or constellation); Tertiary Moon progressions (a day for a month calculation) and many other minor or major mathematical planetary calculations. The Mid Heaven (also known as MC, or Medium Coeli) which is the most elevated or highest part of your chart, and the Ascendant (Rising Sign) are two very important chart angles . These angles also move or progress with the rest of your chart and are of major influence.
Noel Tyl (one of my teachers), who has helped usher in the psychological theory of Astrology as well as the medical importance of the chart suggests that there is a strong link or connection between Jupiter, Venus and diabetes. This is not simply theory, there is much empirical data to back up this connection, among others. Difficult aspects (conjunction, square, and opposition) to the planet Saturn suggest difficulty with the skin (largest organ of the human body), teeth, and or bones. Psychologically, a difficult placement of Saturn suggests an unfavorable relationship within the home and problems with father or the father figure.
However all is not lost regarding potential health problems when interpreting the Astrological chart. Aspects that are considered helpful or positive (such as a Sextile or Trine) to or from the Sun, Moon, Jupiter, Venus and the Ascendant are considered healthy and favorable. Of course there are many other variables and considerations for delineating a natal or progressed chart for determining whether there is a potential health crisis or not. Still, Astrology is definitely an early warning method for both the client and the Astrologer. If used with common sense and a competent Astrologer, the client stands to have a heads up for future difficulties, health or otherwise.
What Astrologers call “developmental tension” is actually a positive and life affirming necessity. Without the challenges of life man would never determine the answers or solutions to his problems. So it is really up to the client to be prepared with his/her questions written down on a slip of paper. A good Astrologer will already have a plan of strategy for a new direction and why you are coming to see them in the first place. Have your priorities set before the consultation so as not to overly depend on the Astrologer. Working together with your Astrologer you will then have a clear and concise orientation of where to go, and how to get there.
Aho
